Quick summary
Zen Timer is an Android app that does not collect or send any personal data to our servers. We run no backend, use no in-house analytics, and do not profile users. All app logic lives on your device.
The free version displays ads served via Google AdMob, which does process certain technical data to deliver ads. The Pro version (one-time purchase of £1.99 / $1.99) removes ads and turns the app strictly offline, with no telemetry.
Data we handle
On your device (local storage)
Zen Timer stores in the app’s internal storage:
- Your last meditation settings (timer duration, volume).
- A daily log of minutes meditated, so you can track your practice.
This data never leaves your device, is not synced to any server, and is wiped when you uninstall the app or clear its data from Android settings.
Advertising (free version only)
The free version integrates the Google AdMob SDK, owned by Google. To serve ads, AdMob may process:
- The Android Advertising ID.
- IP address, language, and time zone.
- Device model and OS version.
- Ad impression and interaction events.
Google acts as an independent controller for that data, under its own privacy policy. The app shows a consent form (Google UMP) on first launch for users in the European Economic Area, where you can accept, reject, or fine-tune the use of your information for personalized ads. You can review your choice at any time from the app’s settings.
The Pro version fully removes this SDK and, with it, all of this processing.
In-app purchases
If you buy the Pro version (1,99 € / $1.99 / £1.99), the transaction is processed by Google Play Billing. We neither receive nor store payment data: Google handles billing under its Google Play terms. We only keep, on your device, a local flag indicating “Pro purchased” to disable ads.
Permissions requested by the app
Zen Timer declares the following Android manifest permissions:
INTERNETandACCESS_NETWORK_STATE: required to serve ads and process the Pro purchase. Not used to send your meditation data anywhere.com.google.android.gms.permission.AD_ID: required by AdMob from Android 13 onwards to access the Advertising ID. Only used with consent.
The app does not request microphone, camera, external storage, contacts, location, or any other sensitive permission.
Legal basis
- Local data (settings and meditation stats): does not constitute personal data processed by us, as it resides exclusively on your device.
- AdMob ads: user consent (Article 6.1.a GDPR), collected via the UMP form.
- Pro purchase: performance of a contract (Article 6.1.b GDPR) between you and Google as the seller.
Retention
Local data is retained as long as you keep the app installed. Logs operated by Google AdMob follow Google’s own retention policy.
Disclosure and international transfers
We do not share personal data with third parties. Google, as the operator of AdMob and Play Billing, may process data on servers outside the European Economic Area, covered by the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.
Your rights
You can exercise your rights of access, rectification, erasure, objection, restriction, and portability at any time by writing to privacy@enredando.me. Since we do not store data tied to identifiable users in our own systems, these requests are typically resolved by confirming that no data about you exists on our side.
To exercise rights over the data Google processes for advertising, you must contact Google through its Privacy Center.
If you believe your rights have not been respected, you can file a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (https://www.aepd.es) or your local supervisory authority within the EU.
